The storage is complete and the main (4) bays are full. If my guestimation is correct, and we burn about a cord a year, I am at my mark.

Now I know it is not nearly what most of you burn a year but it still feels good to be there.

Last year was the first year burning and we only had fires from Friday night through Sunday night. Next year I'm thinking I'll burn more during the week. Going by what we went through this year my guess is it will be about a cord. With these (4) bays full the math comes out to just shy of (4) cords.

The last bay is just for shorts and small chunks. Anything under 13" doesn't stack well in the storage I made that sits on the hearth. That is what the 5th bay is for. That will mostly be used for outside bonfires. I can also use some of it in the house and just keep it in the (2) canvas bags I have that I bring wood in with. They can sit on the floor next to the hearth and be pretty much out of the way.

Have about a 1/2 cord in rounds unsplit. No good place to put those so they will stay on the pallets off the ground and get split next spring to replenish part of what we burn this year.

And I can even sit and look at it while I sit on the deck in the screen porch having a beer!!

Heck yea brother. Nicely done. Now to resist the urge to add on to the shed for a 5 year plan.

Congrats on reaching that summit.
Once you’re there it’s relatively easy to maintain IME. A year’s worth (or a little more ) every year is all it takes.

Sweet. Good work. Now to get to that point where you have 3 years on hand so that you will always have good dry wood to burn.

Having (just about) made the transition from 1st/2nd year burning having just enough for weekend fires, I will attest- it’s kind of like buying a carton of cigarettes- you might consume more just because it’s right there. I second planning the addition for a 5 year plan :) :stack::stacker::stack:

And that's how it starts... Your 3 year plan may lead to full blown CAD...

Not quite sure how I know that...

I put two additions on mine and haven't bought a saw since before I started them.

Hmmmmm! What to get??? I know what brand I'll buy.

So when Ms. buZZsaw finds them I'll say I got the OK from you! ;) Much appreciated! :handshake:
