Yes, just say it! OK, so some of you may be wondering where I have been for a little while, well let's start here.
I've been to New Hampshire 3 times since early November (trying) to nail down someone/contractor to build us a home up there with no avail. They either want to much OR they don't have the time and to many projects going on. My closest bid for a simple Rancher with a basement was around $450K, :faint: :headbang::headbang::headbang:and I already own the land. :hair:
So, to get to the next phase of our lives, I have a LOT of SH!T and no place to put it!:whistle::whistle:
So after a lot of thought, sleepless nights, "drinking" :emb: :drunk::cheers: more thinking, trying to find a rational thought, and no calmness in the markets and political spectrum, I/we decided to go this route, for now and it will add $$$$ to our place here. I had to pull my savings resources but it'll be recouped eventually.

The start of this whole project was something to be witnessed! :binoculars::rofl:  I had 3 wooden storage sheds in the "Blank" hole where the building is now. The newest one was about 20 years old to 30+ years old. The bugs, termites, time and weather all payed their tax on those buildings so we tore them down. o_O Chrissy, myself and my friend Bill, tore each one down. now, sounds easy of you have a machine to just smash them up, but Noooooooo! because I live in a neighborhood, we had to physically start from the top, strip shingles off the roofs, and saw-zaw them apart piece by piece. I had to place 2 @ 20yard dumpsters in my street, in front of the house and fill them up one at a time! Now, Chris and I are both in our 60's and Bill is 70. so you can see how much fun this was for us! o_O:rofl: . We went through a 500 count bottle of Motrin, and full jar of IcyHot. We started in late February on some non-freezing days to the end of March, Basically graded it by hand but we did it. :p So, here we are now. The building is 24' x 36'.
Today is the 1st of June. I ordered 40 ton of 2a-modified stone for the base to be delivered tomorrow and the floor will be poured on the 9th.
I will follow with more on this once the building is done. I'm going to build some mezzanines inside and a full work shop with a side for nothing but reloading! :D

    Enjoy the Pics!

After 35 years of marriage, some of my In-laws stuff after they passed and some of my Daughters crap, I needed the room bad! Storage units are now CRAZY priced and I wasn't going to just piZZ away the money... This was a much better option.

The summer get's Blazing Inferno Hot around here in the summer, I KNOW this building is going to be hot also. last week I noticed TSC was putting out their big A$$ fans, my only issue with them is they don't give any Military discount :(, but Home Depot does! So, I started looking into my budget for a fan I could afford big enough for the building and LUCKY for me, Home Depot had a 42" drum fan, but they only had 1 so I ran up and bought it. Come mid-June into July, you can't find a big fan or an air conditioner around here! o_O
I got a feeling with all the Tariff crap going on things are going to get difficult for some of the stores. Anyway, this thing should keep air moving! :dennis:

This is from 2021, the little 8x8 shed with the green box had been enclosed since with walls and a door. Everything you see was in the "footprint" of the new building. Including the fire pit, I forgot we had to take that up also. :picard:

WeldrDave have you considered buying property farther towards the center of the country vs the $$$$$$$$$ east coast? Maybe PA, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky? Those house prices in New Hampshire are pretty high. My nephew is having a Bi-level built next to us with attached 24'x24' garage and a full unfinished basement. 3 bedroom, 2 bath. low $300,000. The plumbing for another bath will be ran into the basement for later.

Yes! I actually have. West Virginia is one of my favorite places! I need to go to a "VERY" friendly gun state. I am WELL versed on what states are best. New Hampshire is one of the best in the Nation.

Let me be clear on something, My wife is from Wisconsin. We actually owned 10.39 acres there at one time. Wisconsin was very gun friendly, (at one time), but they are going south quick also!!! I LOVE, the mid west, I love places like NY state! It's BEAUTIFUL country but the politics have DESTROYED the way of life for many of people. yes, this is a public forum but I speak the truth. NOBODY has the right to tell me what gun I should or shouldn't have as lone as I'm abiding by a moral law. NONE of my guns have jumped out of my safe's and harmed a soul! It takes a special kind of stupid to think CRIMINALS are going to obey gun laws!
