Locust mania that is. Black locust to be precise. Been a while since I've had the adrenaline rush from finding a score of it. Some of my fellow CT hoarders can relate I'm sure.:loco:

Found it on FBM last week, locked it in for Saturday and rain postponed til today. Been a long time since I've found BL on FBM Full tree blowover from last year. 18"DBH. Waaaaay down a very steep hill in her back yard. IMG_7241.JPG IMG_7240.JPG Luckily she okayed it with a neighbor for me to drive in his yard to load. Still a 50' walk to the truck. IMG_7239.JPG Thought the tree was dead as the bark on top was coming loose. Discovered leaves sprouting when I limbed it so 95% of it was green with tight bark. Nicked something metal near the bottom. IMG_7242.JPG IMG_7243.JPG Heaping load yielded close to two face cord. IMG_7251.JPG IMG_7252.JPG IMG_7249.JPG IMG_7255.JPG Still more of the top left. Not worth a trip back for what little was left. Half hour ride one way. The lady couldn't have been nicer. So much so she insisted on giving me some money for what I did. I didn't accept and thanked her for her kind gesture. Piece of cake for this hoarder. She was amazed at what I got on the truck.

Nice when you have a mutually beneficial arrangement like that. Looks like route 8 in the background so you couldn't have been too far off the highway to boot

You recognize route 8 through all those trees, and bushes, with all those leaves on em? What is this, My Cousin Vinny?

Heck he even recognized route 2 when I was cutting out your way! Plus he had the inside scoop about this score before I cut it!

My record is bad enough to be disqualified for a local LEO job, but I’m not crooked enough to be a fed. Just a quiet observer here ;)
