Yesterday around 8:30 AM, temps in the single digits. There was another one in the next door yard doing the same. Dumb things. They have destroyed a countless number of my shrubs but I can't help liking them. deer5.jpg

It's almost like they are asking to be warmed up on the grill. :grizz:

I went out last night to close up the birds, and I heard the sound of a rat tail slapping a bucket and as I rounded the corner, I could see the feeder swinging back and forth. Dang rats have to go. They are very smart with traps.

For sure. I’ll take a black racer over a rattler any day all day. That’s why I’m happy to see them in there. Keep the mice population down so the rattlers move to better hunting. Still dislike snakes but the choice is obvious LOL

Great picture...........Momma looking very worried about her baby and the little one using her instincts of being still and laying low.

    Precious!

Mom and 6 babies...caught me off guard when I went behind the woodshed. Now I am worried she has a den in there.

I like skunks (except when they spray my dog!). They go about their business, don't intentionally bother anybody else, and all that they ask is that you leave them alone. But if you do mess with them and ignore their warnings, they play hob! :bug: There should be a lesson for humans there somewhere.

Oh, that brings back some “not so pleasant” memories and odors:emb:. We had a mama skunk decide to bring her whole famdamily under the platform in our small animal barn. Wife was milking goats ( this was several years ago) and one of the little ones came out and walked around under her legs! So, a trapping and relocation mission was begun. Ended up shooting the mom but danged if it didn’t run back under the platform and die there. Had to get under there and pull it out with a rake. Since then whenever we are riding down the road and smell skunk that is roadkill I just about heave:jaw:. I really don’t like skunks:rofl:

I kinda like em myself. They are cute. And I don’t mind the smell, although it gets pretty intense if they spray

She wandered off into the edge of the woods and I blocked off the entry way last night. I will go check and see if I can tell if they are still around.
