I had a piece of firewood fall over on my foot. 5 minutes later another one. Same place. It kinda hurt but I kept going. Three days later I woke up with a sore big toe. It didn’t really hurt much for two more days and then it really blew up and hurt. I can’t decide if it’s gout or arthritis or maybe a small fracture. I always heard gout is outta this world for pain. I can walk almost normal sometimes but then it swells and I limp. Any ideas folks? No more liver n onions or beer…. I really hope it’s just broken.
Ugh, I'm sorry, ouch! From what I've heard about my mother's husband's gout and RA personally, it sounds more like and injury. I'm no doctor, just passing on what I heard/know. - On the other hand my husband has zero cartilage in his big toe joints and anything that impacts them causes a lot of pain for him. Might be worth your time to see an urgent care and see what they say?
I’m not sitting for 12 hours in the ER. As far as a doctor appt I’ll be dead or better by the time I get in. My daughter sat that long a month ago. I get it about the cartilage cause it used to click a lot.
Oh gosh, I forgot medical care in CA is different there. I heard some tape the big toe and second toe together for broken toes.
If it's gout it'll be warm and swollen With stabbing needle feeling pain. I've had four for 20+ years and didn't know what it was for many years With gout you can't put any pressure at all on a inflamed area without extreme pain Drink lots of water and Aleve worked best for me until I got a prescription for colcrys and indomethacin Very seldom have flare-ups now.
It was hot and somewhat swollen. In doing my online research I found that a blow to the foot could trigger a gout flare up if I already had the uric in my blood but never had an attack yet. I didn’t have much pain for the first 5-6 days. Happily today it almost looks normal.
Our health care overall is great but right now we are dealing with a shortage of staff for smaller communities. Competition to attract any available doctor to the smaller communities is pretty stiff and we usually lose to the bigger centres. Patients behaviour and attitude have made the workplace a less desirable place to work.
Gout is no joke. I have had it in my big toe but as a teenager, I used to get it in my right wrist...should have heard the jokes. I found it to happen around Easter and all the candy was causing it.
I have had two bouts of gout and it was an early indication that I was pregnant. I don't think that's your problem.
