Decided to have a weenie roast this evening, with the nice weather we are having. Bonfirestarter. 4ish splits bind them with a piece of barbed wire, soak in diesel fuel, jam a pine split in the middle for a handle. from below From atop the ridge.
Lit a fire last night but it was way too hot to enjoy. And , the pressure treated scraps that were provided were less than desirable…
Just don't bonk that outer ring /rail, the welds broke loose. I need to find/ buy a more robust fire pit. These thin steel ones only last a couple of years. Screwloose and I were talking about using an old LP tank and using an end of that tank, cutting it off and putting legs and a couple of drain holes in the bottom. That would be a nice street fire out that won't rust out in a couple of years.
Stainless steel washing machine drums make nice solo like stoves. MikeInMa has one and it makes a nice fire. I use my generic bowl firepit.
Have a fire ring exactly like that,Christmas present for GF. Pretty thin metal so put fire bricks in the bottom and keep it covered with a tarp when not in use, still in good shape after 3 years.
This has been posted before. The bottom piece was salvaged at the dump. It gets the spin tub up away from the grass. Works well!
