Looks like the price matches the product. I would need a riser to get work up a little higher to be comfortable. Otherwise I see nothing spooky.

One note...that Honda is far too clean to have been the original engine. Does not affect good/bad in the deal.

If it has a faster cycle time, buy it.

It says "Timberwolf" on it? I liked the push through feature and the way it rides on the beam.

The whole splitter looks clean IMO. Claims stored indoors and well maintained. I know some OPE owners take very good care of their equipment, unlike me. :emb:

Hmmm...must be cylinder heat taking the paint off it then. I had thought that was weathering. Something weird going on with that engine...I think maybe it's got an old style gas cap? The recoil shroud looks like the newest version which is less than 5 years old IIRC.

Ah, now I got it. Probably a newer recoil assy on an older engine. Rest of engine looks to match cap. (sorry, I've seen a ton of these little buggers lol) That one will have a good main jet that will never make the engine rpm 'hunt'.

Appreciate your input. Engines of any type not my thing.

My initial thought was something didnt look quite right about it. He says he is second owner and always stored indoors. Still looks very low hours if all original.

It's just my nature to spot the out of ordinary. Since I've been around the hondas so much, my spidey sense goes off.

Truth be known I do like those older versions better. The only real 'improvements' over the years have all been to meet emmissions.

Thats funny. Same here. Look at same stuff all the time, you notice when its "not normal".

Being a trades person, I can spot out of the ordinary with stuff on exteriors of houses. Same with trees!

In your opinion do you think this is an "all original" splitter? Cant say I've seen one like it before. Says Timberwolf on it and I know theyre a good mfr. That is if its one of theirs.

Looks good, that is what a lot of my "old" equipment looks like. I am the only one that uses it and it is stored indoors. And the paint on the cylinder is probably just poor paint from the cylinder manufacturer after all they make hydraulic cylinders they are not painters LOL.

Timberwolf makes a good product, they sure are proud of them tho.

looking at it immediately says it would need a table of some sort on the other side of the wedge. Picking up fallen chunks to split is a real time/energy burner.

Tell me about it. I PMed him questioning him about how I had dibs. He responded his uncle bought it!

BS I wonder??? Wasn't meant to be.

There is an identical splitter to the one I'm currently using (performance built 27 ton) for $650 and the guy will take $600, BUT two hour ride one way. I see similar ones for close to a grand around here so its a real good price.

I should've jumped this morning when I found it. Gotta be worth more than that. I wanted to be safe first and that's what my instinct said
