So far the 6400 took it. I'm sure with more run time the 665 will gain a little more. I just don't have time to do it. I need to mill some 3x3 out of cherry so I may use it for that to get some more run time on it.
I saw it coming . I knew that 6400 wasn't going to be slower than a 665, glad I got to see it in video. I know it makes you smile to see a stock Dolmar faster than a ported Stihl too lol. (Talking about the 362, not the ported 441). And for the record, I know you called it too haha.
Not doggin' any saw here either. Just big props for the 6400. I had one that I used a 24" bar on frequently, it wasn't lacking in the power department either.
How many tanks through the 6400 compared to 2 tanks in 665? I still will pick the 665 when broke in with many tanks under it's belt. Never mind on tanks on 6400. Found this post ( well broke in 6400 ). Shows the 6400 is no slouch either IMO. I have yet to run a 6400 or 665. But them kicking woods ported 562 and 362 azzes is priceless. Heck you can buy used 6400 6401 for less then a port job now days. No brainer. By the way only 1mm more stroke in 665.
Love watching the videos, trying to learn all I can about saws. It looked like the chain on the 372 was pretty loose?
Wonder if my POULAN 64cc would out cut those woods ported saws. Man that would burn their butts. $30 saw to a $800-$1000 saws. Already know the stock PP 70.7cc one out cuts stock stihl DP 440 and 372xp.
It don't really hurt anything unless you're limbing a lot. It will throw it easier doing that. It's hard to say. There's a lot stronger saws out there than the 362 and 562. I know this 441 takes as long to take apart as 3 normal saws.
Haha, 1st one? They come apart ok, putting them back together is the trick. These 6400s/665 might be stronger/faster cutting saws but they are also heavier than the 362 and especially the 562. Sure they are close displacement wise but I think comparing them to 70cc saws makes more sense. The price tags on them (especially used) sure do make you drool too.
Yeah first and last unless these things make ported 395 power. It would have to be something really special for me to own one now. The 576 is much easier to take apart. I don't consider the weight like most people. I'm fine with a 14 lb powerhead.
I will still take the 665. Especially broke in. Anyone care to bring a 6400 to the GTG? In stock form of course I'll have a 665 to play with...
I know mine makes pretty impressive power for 71cc. I don't know about ported 395 power, but those new Stihls are not so bad to work on once you learn the order of operations. Just not nearly as intuitive as the new Huskys.
The 562 I ran against it was stock.. I don't know where the ported comment came from. Maybe my post in that thread wasn't clear. I'll still run against it... Even if it means bad things...
