Have been done burning for a couple weeks and finally got around to cleaning out the owb for the season. Not a fun job but a necessary evil.

Been without fires for 6 days with low 40's at night. Last night dropped to 37* so this AM I decided to burn the last bit of wood that is stocked on the hearth. This is our official "Last Fire" by decree! Lately, even though cold at night, it warms up so quickly that a morning fire means an over hot house at night. It is time to concentrate on fishing instead of fires!

We're done. Cleaned up the stove, put away the tools, returned wood to the stacks.

Now, since we've done this, it's guaranteed that we'll end up deciding to burn again. It usually happens. :hair:

Well, to tell the truth the older that I’ve become the less heat tolerant I am. Where in years past I never even thought about the heat and humidity now I try and work before and after the hottest part of the day:thumbs:. Guess I’m becoming a wimp cause I also don’t like working outside below about 40* especially with a cold NE wind!

No fire last night. The heat never turned on, and it was at least 70 in the house.

This might be it for inside fires. I'm looking forward to outside fires, especially at the GTG at amateur cutter 's
