That’s a negative cutting angle for when you’re cutting from the bottom up instead of top down

I actually did that one time when I was making a chain longer. I dropped the piece I was putting in and I picked it up and put it in backwards. I had one end spun before I noticed it. It was one of those days.

Yeah, I broke the 3120XP in on a 34” diameter Douglas Fir. It had done a “Gentle Fall” on a building of my Sister in Law’s Boss. He had plenty of wood and offered it to us. He used an excavator to move it to the ground.

I was able to cut through in enough places to roll the sections with the peevee. Then I was able to cut rounds 7/8 through, then roll the sections 180* and up cut to finish the cuts.

yeah, it didn’t take long, about 3 up cuts with a 3120XP, with a 36” bar mounted, for the Fun to wear out QUICKLY, about the fourth round, I set down the 3120XP, and picked up “Old Reliable”, my 266XP with a 24” bar to finish up cutting the rest of the rounds

Bucking with the 3120XP is FUN, that Beast is like a Rabid Beaver on Steroids, up cutting with the 3120XP, not so much Fun

Nope absolutely positive it was Stihl chain, I Wish that shop was a Husky dealer, but they’re not, and I drive right past them almost everyday, so that is where I get things that don’t have to be brand specific. Heck, Tim is a hella nice guy, so I don’t mind giving them some business, even if they do sell the Wrong Color of chainsaws;)

Just curious if you showed him that chain? Would they exchange it as its a manufacturing defect?

I just found it Saturday, and I wasn’t going to stop what I was doing just to drive 16 miles each way over one tooth

I’m sure they would take care of it, but one tooth on a 44” bar isn’t exactly noticeable

Yeah I wouldn't make a special trip either. What did you end up doing to that tooth? Grind it off?

Nah, I just used it as it was, what Should be the trailing edge, is lower than the cutting face so it didn’t seem to catch, or be grabby, I didn’t notice any real difference, so I just Gotter Done
