I have some type of mental block on doing this.

I just cannot bring myself to do it until the coffee tastes like it was run through an ashphalt machine.

No. We have very hard water so... clean the coffee maker or drink milk. 50/50 tap water and vinegar every month. No problems.

I have a Cuisinart 14 cup coffee maker. It has a red light that comes on indicatting time to clean. Some vinegar/water and it cleans fine. I'll tip it on it's side and spray water into it. Good to go.

    I don't.

Probably because I have never drank a full cup of coffee.

I stopped drinking it about a year or so ago. I never did a whole cup myself and figured I’d give stop drinking it a try. Slight headache the next day, but that was it.

I’ll have a sip of my wife’s coffee now and again. Guess I don’t need the caffeine; stuff just ran through me and made me talk a lot more.

I know. Not into hot liquids other than soups. If it makes me seem more normal I do choke down a cup of green tea daily (after it cools significantly). Not that I enjoy it, looking for health benefit.

There's not much to clean on a pour over funnel.

I used an Aeropress for many years but the seal has aged and begun to leak.

I used to drink many cups of coffee a day but now down to just one and sometimes none.

I went from a faucet attachment for spay to the original aerator. Only took a few months of habitually barely tinking the aerator on the caraf to swing it back (2 brews/day) and it cracked the other day on that last tink. I used it the next day but then the glass fell in lol. That was a Ninja. Spare is Hamilton Beech, it's basically a Mr. Coffee built tall and thin. Next time think I'll stay with Cuisenart or Ninja. Though the water is easer to pour in the Ninja reservoir.

And Nord , I rarely clean mine, it's always in use lol.

I exclusively use a Presto percolator. It's easy to clean it: Just run a cycle with a dishwasher pod and then rinse it out. Sparkling clean! I do it about once a year +/-.

Big difference between not drinking coffee and not drinking caffeine. I stopped all caffeine consumption other than chocolate in 2020 as one of many ways to drop my blood pressure that the doctor freaked out about. Still drink lots of coffee but all decaf. Now, if need to drive through the night a little bit of real coffee would be magical!

We mostly use an espresso machine now and there's no way to see the funk buildup if there even is any inside. Might have to look into this. In the past we used calcium carbonate, aka pH increaser for pools, in the drop machines after I read the label for the fancy cleaning solutions and that's all it is.
