Been using a small-ish griddle on my grill to make some smash burgers lately. Have wanted a real griddle for a while, and this has made me think I'm gonna go on and pull the trigger. Missed getting one of those end of season clearances on a blackstone a few years back when walmart would drop them down to $180 ish. Anyone have the sams club griddle? Looking at the 4 burner 'regular' one, not the pro or premium or whatever they call the higher one....
Two weeks ago Tractor Supply had a Blackstone griddle, 36" 4 burner at $149 off, about $200? It wasn't on my radar do I didn't get it. Mentioned it to my wife and we checked the next day and it was gone. It must have been a floor model. Keep an eye out, deals are still out there!
Wow that was good. Don't think I'll see that kind of price around here... WM had some marked down last fall, but they were all rusted up.
I bought my blackstone on clearance myself for half price. I walked into my local big box sporting goods store a couple years ago and a worker was just wheeling two of them out for end of season clearance sale. I asked him to leave one on the cart for me , SOLD! Did I need it = nope but certainly glad I jumped on it. It is overkill for my needs but it certainly works really well. Sorry can't help with the one from Sams club but if it cooks anything like a Blackstone I think you will be happy.
I'm actually not far from there today (well, closer than I would be from home...). Gonna look at Lowe's to see if they by chance have a sale (doubt it), and then check out the one at Sam's. I'm planning on getting a 36" when I get one, or one close to that...
Looked at a couple at HD and Lowes. Nothing stood out for being a value. The members mark 4 burner was $50 off right now, making it $199. I've seen good reviews and vids on it, so pulled the trigger. Now to find time to assemble...
My wife bought me a Blackstone 36" 4 burner for my 60th birthday. It's the one with the drawers and cabinet. I use it a lot.
Im.excited to get mine put together and cooking. Maybe this weekend, though it's supposed to rain some.
I still plan on using the grill, esp for steaks and other stuff I want to get some flames on. Hopefully I can finish assembly today. I want to take the griddle top out in the yard to wash it, before I attache it, then I've got to put the hinged lid on and season. Might get to cook on it this weekend...
I don't remember washing mine. I followed the directions about seasoning. I actually prefer steaks on the Blackstone or a cast iron skillet.
I've seen several recommendations/ vids that say wash before to get the factory gunk and storage/shipping 'oil' off. I figure can't hurt...I'd wash a cast iron pan after I bought it before seasoning... That's why I'll try to get the timing right...wash right before i have time to season...since it'll take a while to do multiple 'layers'.
Someone here on fhc built an outdoor cooking / bbq shed. I think it was within the last year or two... I have looked through the forums and tried searching, but can't find it. By chance was it anyone who's looking at this thread, or does anyone know who it was? I can see the pics in my head, and almost recall who it was but just can't pull it out of memory.... Figured I'd ask in this before I post a thread asking...
I think I finally found it.... Just started looking at the beginning of the thread...but I believe it was Pallet Pete...
