    Although black gum is worse as i recently discovered at my Disney cut. The wood processor wouldn't split it and neither would his dual splitter. Sunk in a tiny bit and bogged down. I had to chunk it off the edge and even then it really grunted.

    So being a metal fabricator are you going to build a bullet maul?

    I wanna try it. It would slow you down reloading all the time. Need a belt feed for the shells..

    Yep, works on the same premise as some of the old black powder wedges. Some of the old wedges used gas ports to drive the log apart. Some used the gases to drive another wedge deeper. Would be a fun toy to have.
