I recall we got 12" here on 4/01/'95...it was my first day at the Ford dealer and had to help move every car on the place to plow (twice, out, and back again)
We had a blizzard once on the 4th of July. We were playing horseshoes and all of a sudden it got cold and a blizzard hit. Visibility was near zero. It lasted less than an hour and then it melted off in the sun. One of the strangest things I ever saw.
I'm much happier with blizzards and dump loads of snow at the end of the season. It's fun then and doesn't cause winter doldrums.
I think its worse. The snow around here is heavy wet this time of year. So the ground is too soft to do anything. In the thick of winter it's frozen so at least I can get outside
