Let the fun begin

Starting to fill the wood shed to get ready for next Winter.
The wood has been stacked outside for a couple of years so will probably burn quickly.
If I stack 6’ high I get about 1/2 cord per row. The shed will hold 7 rows and the cart is 7 loads to the row.

Hopefully full by the end of May.

What kind of cart is that?

 

It’s an older model DR Power Wagon. It gets quite a bit do use here when it’s time to move wood around.

A buddy's dad used to have a DR wagon. He used the crap out of that thing around his well landscaped yard.

 

They’re spendy new but sometimes can be found used for a good price. After getting this one, I found another in the little town where we live so grabbed it up as well.
I think the older ones with the wooden sides are a better design than the newer plastic ones. The other one in the background has a different motor on it.

 

Are they all single rear wheel like that?
Is it beefy enough? It looks a little light but might not be in person.

 

I believe the new ones have two rear wheels on them.
These are rated for 800 pounds and I’ve never had an issue loading it full with wet, heavy wood. I’ve seen vids where folks have built side racks to hold a bigger load.

4 forward speeds and one reverse.
When loaded I usually use 2nd gear which is a leisurely walking pace but will go in 3rd at a very brisk walk.

The one issues with each is keeping the electric start working but they start easily with the pull ropes.

My buddy's dad used his to haul some pretty good loads of rocks. He even had a sulky for it though I never saw him use it.

 

Were hoarders Scotty...there's no such thing as "stocked up"!
