Cutting some Red Oak, found something cool

    for your stack viewing pleasure - this is just part of the red oak the fresh stuff on top, need some more bricks before I can start another stack.

    Very nice basod! Here is the only oak i have and was waiting for your pic to show what a bunch of it looks like?:D There are a total of 4 oak tree's standing over on the farm but they will out live me. :cheers:

    Just put the tin on before the pictures this morning - supposed to get 2"+ rain tonight
    I burn ~2 cords a year, 1 oak/hickory, the remaining shoulder wood pine mostly. I don't necessarily keep too close a tab on the shoulder wood consumption have smaller stacks of it out in the woods
    Last year burned through close to 4 cords, there was a bunch of sweetgum in there - extra cold winter as well.
    2013 was 3 years removed from a disc herniation so I was little short on the oak and hickory.
    The long pile is ~85% red oak

    So the red oak shall not be cursed to 4yrs seasoning:D - did I mention it was dead standing? and felt pretty dang dry? could be ready next year if needed

    You've been given an Oak seasoning reprieve.

    I can get just about all I want/need of that at my SIL's.....Once I finish getting the trails opened up gooder.
    Nice feeling knowing it'll be dry quickly.
