There is a large pile of logs near a business here that heats their building with an outdoor wood boiler. The processor has been cutting/splitting/piling it the last few days. If it burns ...........

We can only hope that more and more civilians find FHC!

They must know that they'll have a warmer, safer experience if they properly season their wood.

I figure one of two things is going to happen to these people:
    1. They are going to learn the hard way how to season and burn wood and hopefully we can eventually be apart of the rehab of these peoples thinking.
    2. There is going to be some cheap equipment to buy next year.

    3. They are going to keep doing the same crap year after year. Met a lot of these guys in my life.

Good point. I'm always surprised how many people dont learn anything. Maybe I shouldn't be suprised, but I am.

I will be guilty of doing it somewhat.I couldn't get ahead this summer or last winter.I want to be a couple yrs ahead but just haven't been a blessing to make it happen.I admit I know better though.

That's the difference though! You know better. Your working to make it happen. I'm not where I want to be either, but I have some wood seasoned and ready and working towards more.
The thing that drives me ape is the people that tell me that I have to burn my Ash right away or it will get too dry (as if that's possible). Really Mr Hawking? Is that what I need to do?

I was clearing a trail on the edge of my woodlot last week and ran into my neighbor who was cutting down an ash tree on his land. He gives me the old "I love ash cause I can burn it right away" speech. I smiled and changed the subject. The wood I was hauling back to the house is for 3 years from now

Like Sinngetreu said...You know now, and your ahead of the game for just knowing that. It takes a while to get ahead, but once your there, its easier to stay on top of it...You'll get there, just keep chugging away...
