It is a beautiful place and parts of it really reminded us of our coastline.

The world is sometimes more alike than we realize. I see parts of this island that quite remind me of England, Scotland, Ireland, different parts of the USA, and a few other parts of the world. Not that I've had the chance to see those in person yet, but seen plenty of pictures and want to go someday.

There's one area not so far from me, that is an uncanny half and half mixture of two other distinctly different areas, all in opposite directions and distant from each other. Really struck me the first time I seen it. If landscapes could breed with perfectly divided characteristics passed on, I tell you. Couldn't have imagined it if I tried.

Did a little gathering today, trying to save my good stuff, since it looks like the weather might be getting better from here out. I've been eyeing these small standing dead trees down in a hole at the front of my property. It fills with water from time to time for several weeks so i thought they were tulip poplar but after splitting them and seeing bug track marks under the bark, I'm now thinking it's ash. Several more down there for the gitting if need be. Also found a small dead cherry. Will put the box fan on it all for a few days. Dry some of the surface moisture. Inside was good and dry.

First load at the cut sight. Straight ahead is the way out and back to the trailer.

Second load basically filled the trailer and should last me through the next week or 2, depending on temps. Gonna leave it here in the sun till later. Then in the garage she goes and I'll put the fan on it.

Caffeine! It’s -6, and after I get moving, it will be time to bring some more firewood in. Have enough in the basement to get through the day and overnight, but it’s time to restock enough to get through the next week. Will burn more Pine during the day today and tomorrow on RDOs. Stay warm firewood hoarders, and enjoy the day.
