Picked up a Lombard Comango off CL...what an old school beast! At 16:1 mix it smokes alot, but at 68cc it has plenty of power. Also is very loud, cleaned it up, and the only thing in the muffler is a screen, so no mod required. I went through the specs and it seemed low on rpm's compared to todays saws, but plenty of torque. Manual oiler (brings me back to my old Mac) and decent 16" bar and fairly new chain. Best of all only $50!
That was one question I was going to pose...love to cut down on smoke but didn't want to do any damage.
Great...notice the tag says SAE 30W for chain oil, always just bought Chain oil not checking what weight it is...
I've not seen chain oil labeled for viscosity like engine oil is. Use thicker stuff in the summer and thinner in the winter. 30wt used to just be the standard for just about everything. 16:1 mixed with 30wt engine oil was the standard two-cycle mix for a long time. Oil, especially for two-cycles has come a long ways in the last 40 years.
