The loggers started dad's woods last week. All oak. About 50 trees. Mostly white, black and chestnut oak. Only 4 red oak. Leaving all the tops and taking only saw logs. I used almost a gallon of fuel on the first white oak top. Logger says usually about 2 cords per top with trees this size.

Probably in the 50-75 foot range. The faller said they were some of the bigger trees he has cut in our area.
We worked up one white oak top that had fallen in the field. Trying to get a game plan as to what goes where. Sorting by species. Only 49 tops to go.
