Oak down the road....

    While driving home the other night. I noticed two oak where knock down in the front yard. I drove by today to find them there. The great thing was it was only less than 1/2 mile from home. So I went home loaded up the truck with saws. Then went back with the tractor for three fully loaded trips.

    He's got one more oak that's he's knocking down next week. So I'll get that one too...

    Smooth bark down here is water oak, but I'm not sure of the ranges of pin and water

    Have not a clue...I'm not in tune to judge that. When I stack it I'll know... I know my last load was a heavy MoFo...The tractor knew it too....When all said and done it should be better than a cord...

    Me too! As I envy yours all the time... I need to get a set of those Grabbers built... May be this winter. Those tractors are great body savers and soooo versatile...:thumbs:

    You split any yet? If pin oak is anything like our water oak, it smells a bit like a cat box. Nothing like that nice smell of red oak or white oak

    Mmmm red oak :D

    Love the smell of that stuff! Just dont like the length of time it takes to dry. But since, I'm far enough ahead, I'll take it!...:Dand I'lll split it big...
