I do love the sight of a customer loading firewood while I'm at work. [IMG]

The temperature finally came up enough to get to work on the first rack of maple that I cut from the tree service delivery. It yielded about 1/4 cord with a little bundle wood. I tagged it with the date, put a lid on it and moved it to storage.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

The next task, now that I had an empty rack, was to cut more maple to fill it again. It will wait for a free evening. I already have another empty tote staged to split into.[IMG][IMG]

Finished splitting the recent rack of maple from the tree service last night and moved the tote to storage. I'm currently at 15 totes plus various racks of smoking wood. Total inventory is around 6 cords of finished product. I'd be really happy if I had 3 times that amount.[IMG][IMG]

Today was busy. We went to a girls basketball invitational and hour away. When we finally got home I needed to get some work done. I cut almost a face cord of the maple from the tree service. It looks like I haven't cut any yet judging by the pile. Then I resplit about 1/6 cord of mixed hardwoods I had leftover. A customer came while I was working on that. Then I built 2 racks out of pallets (like what the rounds are stacked in). I'm done for the day.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Hello my friend I am glad all is working out for you
I see you are a good guy and drive a ford but let me ask you what is that green thing on the handle of your chainsaw

Yes indeed. I'm a Ford guy. The green thing probably isn't at all what you might imagine. I injured my left index finger a few years ago and lost some of the function. I can't grip very tightly so I zip tied a section of pool noodle to the handle. It works great!

I was thinking it was something maybe you did because of vibration glad I did ask you that question
I have also seen in some of your last post you can definitely see any and all people who stop by the wood stand I hope you a better year than last and hopefully if anyone try’s to steal it’s all on tape so they (scum) can be prosecuted

To be honest, if vibration was a problem, the pool noodle would probably be a really good solution. It's really easy to install and it's very comfortable to use the saw.

It's interesting that since I installed new cameras (I have a total of 3 pointing at the stand along with some new lighting), I have had zero problems. I suppose some people have noticed the cameras (they aren't hidden) so maybe that has some impact. One of the cameras is set to do still pics and video each time so there is an abundance of evidence if I ever have a problem.

I picked up another load of splits from my farmer buddy. I'm stocking up for spring. I got one tote topped off. I'll try to get the rest resplit tomorrow. I had some fuzzy company when I was loading.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I got yet another load from the farmer. I need to fill an order for a face cord and didn't want to restack what I already did this week. His tote is full now and I topped off a 1/4 cord tote as well. About half the wood is left in the truck. While I was working, a truck pulled in. I helped them load 1/4 cord of shorts and uglies in the freezing rain. [IMG][IMG]

1/4 cord went out to a repeat customer today. They rely heavily on wood for heat so I make sure to keep them stocked. He came to the door when I got there, saying he wasn't feeling well. He had cash in his hand and said, $140 right? He was $16 short of what I had quoted him. I said Sure we'll get you fixed up. I knew they didn't have much money, he probably gave me all he could afford. I told him to stay inside and rest while I tossed the wood in his trailer and tarped it when I was finished.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Got caught up on your thread, Gary. You've been busy, looks great.
Those totes are a very generous 1/4 cord, closer to .3 cord.
    Nice job all around.

Most of my totes are 275 gallons. I stack 2 rows of 16" splits. When I post that I'm delivering 1/3 cord, I use 330 gallon totes. It's pretty close that way.

I took the day off for my birthday and worked much harder than if I was at my job. I'm still working on the maple tree service delivery. Another tote filled with a little left over to start another one.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I got back to cutting the pile this afternoon. The first thing I did was split all the shorts that were everywhere and I was constantly tripping over. I upcycled an old rack and used IBC tote cutoffs on both ends. Once I get it filled, it will go to storage to season. While I was working on the pile, a customer pulled up. I helped load a loose $40 stack and refilled it after they left. It was a busy but productive day.[IMG][IMG][IMG]
