That's how it was with me. For the life of me, I could not find any reason at to why they were even made.

Me either. Scones aren’t popular around here.

My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder.

I'm into a vein of hop hornbeam chunks from spring 2021. They sure burn nice.

My late father loved that movie. Fond memories of watching it with him. We knew the dialogue from start to finish and would kid each other with the one liners from it.

Me and my dad would always do that with each other as well. Espcially when we were fishing and it was slow. Shawshank Redemption or Forest Gump were our go to's.

Just got up and meandered to the stove room for a look. When did I load last? 10 am yesterday. 330am now. 17.5 hrs. Acceptable.
Tossed a single split on to reduce some chunky coals. Happened to look at the outdoor temp.
Um..... Winter isn't over. 10 day forecast has lows in the single digits throughout.
    Is what it is!
Stove is flawless and we have a basement full of nicely seasoned fuel.
Time for a coffee. Contemplating where I take the missus today for a nice steak. 35 years of blissful marriage  deserves a nice outing I do believe:)
    Enjoy the big game everybody.

22/72 just coals. I'm going to let it sit a bit before I clean the glass and then restart.

I looked at the 2 week forecast. So much for February being above normal temps.

2 this morning. Snow was pushed around with the shovel and waiting for the plow to move it completely out of the way next!

26 out with 6" of new snow overnight. Late starting the fire this morning, house is currently 67 but that will improve as the morning goes on. Cheery and northern red oak right now, big sugar maple chunks coming!

We were out of action for 10 days as the blower motor variable speed control on the insert crapped out and I had to order a new one. Back in action now!

61* in and 24* out. We got about 7 or 8 " of powder overnight, on top of all the previous snow, we now about a foot and half of snow and the snowmobiles are out in force since last week, they have been grooming the trails since last week. Life is as Tony the Tiger would Say ,"Great"!

We were on the edge of where it hit in Wisconsin. We got a dusting. 40 minutes north of us 3-4°. Up north Wisconsin got 3-6" and they needed it. Snowmobile trails way up north just opened on Friday. The snow report shows 9" on the ground now, but that's still not really enough to open trails. Maybe barely.

Up to 23f and sunny. Talking chances of snow through next weekend but not expecting much accumulation. Now watch us get hammered on. Locust, ash, who knows in the stove.

Oh I'd be, if we had any of those. WI changed the registration requirements a few years ago and it made it a lot more prohibitive to have spare sleds around that are legal to ride on trails. Maybe though there's another loop hole for sleds 25 years or older? Ok. Not yet. 35 years is the older age vintage lower cost registration. Year 2000 not a problem to be able to ride trails at a fast pace, even if t he trails get a little rough. 1990? That's pushing it.

Currently 37/73. Burning honey locust chunks and chestnut oak. Woke to a sheet of ice over everything this morning. My stone driveway was a skating rink.
