    Just made it!

-3/64 Cooler temps are nicer for sleeping. I will not fire up at bedtime if the indoor temps are 70 or higher. Unless it is windy.

Supposed to be getting some strong winds tomorrow.

Been cruising along with a steady diet of oak and maple. But running low on oak and even lower on maple.

Been using the oak very sparingly for overnight burns and moved some pine into the woodshed.

I haven't burned much other than pine, cherry, maple and oak (maybe a little ash) in my burning career but I'll tell ya oak just takes the cake for me.

Long lasting, great heat, great coal bed, and very little ash compared to others. PITA to dry out but boy it's well worth it IMO!

Agreed on the oak but being 5-6 years ahead, dry time is a non issue.

Of all things, a blizzard warning has been posted! :faint:

One forecaster has no mention of snow; another has the blizzard warning! :picard:

The winds did kick up briefly about an hour ago but that was it. Last evening, the winds showed up in the form of a breeze but not much stronger than that.

Temps close to 20*F forecasted tonight. Quite cold for here. Old Reliable Doug Fir and some Madrone doing duty the next few days. I am also getting into a vein of thick, heavy DF bark in the woodshed. This will help out after my current wheelbarrow of wood in the garage needs replenishing, probably tomorrow! I made blueberry scones this morning to nibble on throughout the day. Good with coffee!

33° and windy. 45 mph gusts here. Garbage and recycling cans in the garage so we don't have trash flying around the yard. .

72° in the house. Ash and Norway maple in the quadrafire

Roads were decent this am. One street was not treated of any sort , but it was a good test for my new all terrain tires. They work well, much better than the highway year that water on it. Our driveway was the start, there was a glaze of ice. The sun melted 90% of it on my driveway which is nice because I didn't have to do anything to it and it's gone.
