That is horrible and I don't understand those types of people at all.

If the car is in her name, then that seems to be just a scare tactic by the lawyer . Unfortunately, they probably all know she doesn't want to fight and will take everything that she will give them by using such tactics. Then later they can claim that she did so willingly (since there was no fight).

Are the kids her children or step children? Found this after a very short search. It all goes back to not letting someone take advantage of you....unless you allow them.

"In Wisconsin, a person who dies without a will is said to have died intestate. The decedent's estate will be administered according to Wisconsin statute. The share of the surviving spouse is determined by the decedent's other survivors.

Surviving Spouse Only: If only the surviving spouse survives the decedent, the spouse receives all of the property.

Survivor Spouse and Shared Children: If the decedent is survived by a surviving spouse and children who are both decedent and surviving spouse's children, the surviving spouse is entitled to all marital and separate property.

If the decedent had children that were not shared with the surviving spouse, the surviving spouse receives 1/2 of the decedent's property that is not "marital property" or owned jointly with the spouse as tenants in common, and the children receive 1/2 of the marital property and 1/2 of the separate property.

Section 852.01 of the Wisconsin Statutes applies."

Looks like I'm going to have to shovel off the lean-to rooves on the garage. The winds we've had so far just pile up the snow!

    Dang!

Nope. That snow is wind packed.

I never held much stock in roof rakes. Seems you have to remove the snow as soon as it falls.

Yeah I use one but you gotta do it right away. I’d rather do that the get up there when it’s packed.

Yep. The money grubber asked Vickie if I could sell the car for them and they'll take the money. Nope. Not doing her work. My employee was interested but even the discounted price would be more than they wanted to spend, so I'm out. The grubber literally just wants the cash. Car is still at Vickie's house in her garage but the grubber came up from Milwaukee to get the key. Vickie is allowing her to keep it in her garage because the grubber doesn't have room for it in Milwaukee. She'd certainly have room for the cash though. Nope. I'm out. Vickie took her husband's veteran plates off of the car. Good for her. I told Vickie that I can assist and get the grubbers car out of her garage if she wants, keys or not. Lol. We can get it towed too if we don't want to do it the fun way.

We're taking Vickie out for dinner at a supper club on a local lake on Saturday. We were going to bring food back to her place but she wants to get out of the house. I don't blame her. She'll have some errands for me to run and things to do for her.

Tomorrow we're going to another retired friend of my wife's, that is in a nursing home in our town. She wanted a dorm fridge for her food and drinks, so I found a used Samsung dorm fridge online and bought it for her and we're bringing it over tomorrow and putting it on her room after work. 25 bucks and an hour of my time to pick it up is worth it. She's excited about it. Lol.

They work really well, even on snow that has been on a while. Unless it's ice, and it shouldn't be, then a roof rake will work.

They may work well for you; not for me. Mot here. I've owned them and tried them. And sold them in garage sales.

BIL had one that he used when they got a different house. He quit using it shortly afterwards.

Frank told us to take care of Vickie. Those were his last words to us.

As to the other lady my wife befriended a few months back after meeting her at the park across the street from the nursing home, she's a nice lady and we feel bad for her. She's got MS.
