Low got down to -8. Stove could not keep up. Was 62 this morning. Got back and loaded some ash.

The sun is shining on the outside probe, it’s more like 15 outside.

Nice stove! Hopefully I’ll have my Fireview up and running next month.

It’s crazy how fast you can go through gas. Figure an easy gallon per hour. That adds up fast when the furnace runs non stop.

Thanks! It’s a great stove. For about a week a year I’d like to have a Woodstock ideal steel. Most of the time the Fireview will cook us right out. Best of luck.

Been burning with blocks around it all season.
The stove top temps are no more than they are without them.
I checked religiously when I first did this
There's 1.5 inch angle iron on the stovetop, then a 5/8th steel plate, then the block.
Everywhere on the sides and back of stove have at least 3" of clearance

41...... That wouldn't do with me. I'd be adding a second stove or running a furnace as well

    Yeah, it's not great.
1 of those 2 is in the future.
I got an original brick chimney that I could put a liner in and have a basement stove
But it rarely gets as cold as it is now.
During normal temps we hover around 50 to 55 for an reload

No, I loaded around 5am then left for work and got back for paperwork around 2pm. Loaded the stove at 2:30ish. I’d have to be in a really tight spot to work nights or swing shift. Done it before and it’s not for me.

I'll also add that 41, with shoes and a coat on really ain't that terrible.
We don't have ac either and it'll get way into the upper 90s upstairs at night sometimes during the summer.
That's not great either, but it's also not to horrible
We could afford more comfort, I partly live this way to toughen my wife and kids up.
I don't see the modern way of life as a sustainable thing in this country. Better to have the kids prepared for harder times than to make softies

I hear you, I worked nights many years ago right out of high school but have worked days most of my working life. I guess I misunderstood.
