I understand. I mean in general, cause we aren't built for anywhere near that...hours, heating systems, water systems.... I think those things would start failing and it'd go south. I'm concerned with what unusual-for-us temps we have coming.....

24* overnight, heading for 41* today and clear. Thick hoarfrost over everything. Doug Fir and miscellaneous unidentified trashy splits in the Country T Top. House has warmed up to 74* and climbing. Will finish up some splitting and stacking today.

Temp dropped a bit today. Ran the snow blower to clear both driveways and got some salt down to prevent a skating rink.

75 in. Boiling a pot of water to get some moisture in here. It’s like a Tesla coil every time we take a piece of clothing off.

Made it up to 15 out today. 71 in now and 7 out. Supposed to go down to -2 and wind chill of -14 tonight. Getting ready to put in some ash and maple for evening and then white oak overnight. I had the day off today as our company started a few years ago letting us choose to work or not on MLK day. Glad to be off to watch the festivities today.

Supposedly it got to 2° above zero today. I saw 0 on my weather station when I got home at 4:15. It's -2° right now

Loaded the stove with honey locust, and ash.

    69° in the house.

Made a run with the wife to get some corn for the pigs. It was -10. Also put a chunk of Doug fir in the cook stove. Biggest it can take, and it was 13.5” x 19”. I didn’t think my wife was going to document the entire process. Ignore the embers and wood floor. We are in the middle of a remodel.

Low going down to 3 tonight. Load of mostly ash and a couple hickory splits in the back. Picked out the largest and longest splits that’ll fit in the Fireview.

14 and forecasted to drop to 7. I have the air wide open trying to let the coal bed burn down overnight. I’ve been burning oak, ash, cherry and sassafras mix all day so it’s anyone’s guess what’s actually left in there throwing the heat.
