So earlier this summer a guy I know asked me if I knew of any place hiring for general help since his brother was out of work. I happen to know a guy who is a foreman at a warehouse and put in a good word for the dude. He ultimately ended up getting a job there. I saw the guy a few weeks ago and had a few cold ones at a local watering hole. In talking I mentioned that since I had had surgery earlier this year I was nearly out of firewood for the coming season and that I was thinking of changing to a pellets stove. I get a call today from a guy asking me if I still needed firewood for the season, I told him yes but I wasn't ready to buy for financial reasons, also being that is so late most places only have high moisture content at this point. We left it at that and tonight I get home and this is waiting for me in the driveway with a note that read "I hope this keeps you and your family warm this Winter. Thanks for helping me with the job, its a great job and your friend is a real cool dude to work for. God bless you and your family. Oh and BTW, don't worry about stacking, my teenage boys will be over tomorrow AM to stack it for ya", Warmest Wishes, Jack.

How cool is that? I reckon that's over a cord. I put the moisture meter to about 15 splits and its ranging from 13 to 21%.
I think its so cool that people still care like that. This is community building at its best.

    Kat.

Indeed. I have met the guy before through his brother, and his brother always speaks highly of him, I know the guy is dedicated to his family and that's enough for me to speaks on his behalf.

Wow, nice job helping him out. Hopefully that will get you through the heating season.

The going rate here for doing a friend or neighbor a favor is a plate of brownies or slightly burnt cookies.

    That's great!

It is all doom and gloom on the news. I have to get on the FHC forum to have my faith in humanity restored.

Here are the boys and girl that came over. That little girl, 11 years old is tougher than any boy I have ever seen. She is one tough cookie. The boys were sitting taking breaks and she was yelling at them. Love those kids.
