Two more loads delivered this morning. We split the load on the truck, she wanted green wood. The tote is seasoned oak. Went to the regular customer that told us in November that they were going to burn the downed trees on their place, didn't need wood this year...
Three face cords delivered today and put me at 285 for the year. 300 was my goal, but will fall short by a few. Rough delivery for the first two today. Lot of doggy land mines and hand carrying up steps. This guy ordered two ricks last year and wasn’t home. I waited two hours close by for him to contact me or receive another order. Total loser as a customer, but bagged $560 out of him today.
Folks that don't plan ahead can pay extra. Had a guy that got wood a couple years ago, call hoping we had some left. We had 1 330 gal tote to spare of 16" splits...delivered late yesterday afternoon
"To spare"? Does that mean you're out of sellable wood, or, what you have is already allocated to someone?
A little of both...had 4 totes cut for a lady, she had gotten 2 already, called her, she said save her 1... We have 1 tote of 16", 2 1/2 totes of 14" and 3 of 18" for the restaurant. We are cutting a little green for folks that want it.
Another load delivered today, logs were 10 months old, at least. Biggr logs were still pretty wet. She can use it later.
We have enough for personal use. We're working on filling our sheds so we will have wood in 5+ years...putting hickory in the shed now, then white oak. We will start on filling totes soon.
Yep, he ate plenty of spinach...... Tractor would barely lift it...yes, it's green oak...he knew it, didn't plan to well...... He lives about 30-35 miles NW of us...they are getting a lot of sleet...
Most here learn; as roads look like that 4-5 months a year.. we have had flurries every day since new year.. You go off road here with out winter tire; it’s 2 points $135 fine. They call it excessive speed for conditions Waive it for snow tires
