Last night it was about 10 degrees warmer than the forecast low so I'm sure the boiler is still pretty full. Haven't made it out there yet. Skies have cleared up so it will probably be much colder tonight.

Light snow here but don't expect much. It is a raw wind from the NW. 30 predicted for the weekend and that should feel good.

Oh dang, they lowered the forecast to -3 for tonight. Better go load up the boiler.

17/75 straight white oak. Got tired of burning through the cherry so darn fast.

Low of 10 tonight. Load of ash in the fireview. I’m burning wood from 5 years ago when I had a smaller stove kinda a PIA. More current stacks are much more consistent length and longer.

Last night was wild! The low in town was -8* but if felt a lot colder out here, watched the weather stations between there and here and we were -24*

Low tonight forecasted 17*, feels colder than that already.

I think the high today was around 14* , currently it is 8*. We got home late from trivia and Kareoke so my son fired up the Pellet stove when he got home. Wood fire coming in the morning. We have the consensus of Ice thickness on the local lakes and towns is around 7 to 8 inches of clear hard ice with no snow. The best kind, so when we get snow less sleds will go through the ice.

18/68 - Really windy today making it feel like 2F. Loaded the VF-100 with some red oak, ash and big split of black locust.

62 is the result of not firing up at bedtime with the colder temps. That concept seems hard to grasp for some.

Looks like that cold snap is going to peter out before it gets to me. Unless you know something I don't know.

    I'm sure you stayed warm!

I have 18/71. CO on top of the BL coals with a wide open draft to kick up temps for the wife this AM. The wind chill is colder than a witches teet.

edit: changed pic. I had the wrong location selected on my app. Moving my daughter this weekend to Ithaca NY. Windchill there is currently-13.

24O/69I when we got up. A split of ash, persimmon and holly has it at 73 now.
