Has anyone used a Dewalt 20v to Ryobi 18V adapter to use Dewalt batteries on a Ryobi cordless tool?

If so, any issues? Asking for brother with a Ryobi 18V 7 1/4 brushless circular saw (Christmas gift) but no Ryobi 18v batteries.

No heavy use anticipated so no real need for Dewalt higher pricing so would be nice to use adapter if it doesnt hurt anything.

Charging temp is still 32* according to the specs. You can only discharge at lower temps - which I believe was your issue with the Pecron

    upload_2025-1-5_2-58-30.png

LifPo4 batteries can discharge in cold, they just don't charge well in the cold (and if they don't shut themselves down, can ruin them). That is one of the reasons why they don't really make good PV batteries and other compositions are used instead.

Seems they all won't charge below freezing. I didn't read into it so that my bad! I just saw the heat feature. Figured they'd charge at a lower as well!! :(

There might be some confusion, just because the outside temperature is 32 or below, doesn't mean your battery is at or below 32 degrees.

There is supposed to be an internal sensor between the case and cell pack. Heated batteries will still be much warmer internal temp than outside of the case or ambient. Also this battery chemistry makes heat, there is a good chance it can be colder than 32 and it can still charge, especially if your using it.

I did my battery setup for my in closed cargo trailer. thought it would be nice to have some power if needed without using a gas generator. Also could be emergency power for the house. Maybe power is out and the Genny won't start. I could run a couple power cords in the house.

I think Tesla uses heated batteries and folks are driving them all over my cold state. If cold was a big factor, I think trying a heated battery setup would be fun.
