I didn’t think Tok was that big, but it’s been nearly 20 years since I was there.

That was our last census was 1,000 but a few years back we had a really big mine open on and bring good jobs and people to town. I’m guessing we are in the neighborhood of 1,200 to 1,500 now some may only be here temporarily ( 2 weeks on 2 weeks off).

They are all froze stiff and can't move if they wanted to!

I’ve had my truck plugged in for more than 24 hours, had a diesel 175,000 BTU space heater warming the motor and it still won’t start.

So the above may be true!

One positive thing I can say about oak is the heartwood's rot resistance. Hopefully ten years from now I'll still be able to hoard wood and the work involved.

I did manage to start working on the stumps. I’m done for today so I’ll pick this back up tomorrow. What’s left to chunk up from the second drop Friday night:

I’m still in the long slog stage of things, so I’m not quite feeling rich just yet :picard:But I know from experience that once everything’s split and stacked in tidy rows, I’m going to be looking at my handiwork like it’s all money in the bank :makeitrain"

My sincere apologies folks, I’ve lied to you all. I wasn’t done playing outside in the cold today :)
All blocked up into manageable pieces and ready to be split (and noodled further on quite a few pieces) All done with Grandpa’s old Husky 61.

My one request for logs has been fulfilled so no more for now. Once everything is split/stacked I’ll see what I have for room, and go from there. My guess is I’ll be requesting another drop before spring comes. I’m really liking this home delivery concept.

Just a thumb in the wind type of guess but maybe 2 cords? I should’ve taken measurements before cutting everything up.

Knocked out some splitting today. This stack is temporary until I free up more room in my shed. A lot of the back row is black oak that I scrounged. I barely made a dent in the Chipdrop rounds so far…
