There are sooooo many people that sell wood locally, it isn't really worth it, so I bag up my extra uglies/odds n ends to sell for fire pit wood...also will sell some legit firewood, but usually wait until February to advertise my DRY wood, which everybody else is out of...don't like my price, see ya! :salute:

Ive done that too. I need to have a reserve on hand as most of my regulars like the half cord at a time delivery. If we have a colder Winter then I more than likely wont have enough dry.

Ive adopted the see ya type attitude. Too many tire kickers and knuckleheads on FBM.

I had a guy drove an hour for a crate (~1/4 cord) of nice dry uglies/odds n ends, for $40 a few years back during a late season cold snap, then he had the gall to biotch about it not being "firewood" (pretty, uniform splits I'm guessing) when the ad clearly pictured, and stated exactly what it was...he did take it then, but without a discount, because, well, honeybadgers just don't give a F

I have a listing up for a half cord of nuggets/shorts and have learned to ask the buyer if they fully understand what they are getting. I have two regulars for nuggets but generate a lot more than their needs. My BL nuggets guy wanted full length splits as he couldn't stacked them even though he took the 16" splits and cut then in half. He turned into a ghost this year when I texted and called. I have a cord of BL nuggets and one normal nugget regular said he would take a half cord for the next load.
Maybe a couple cords of "regular" nuggets to sell yet this Winter.

Repeat customer from a couple Fridays ago. His furnace is broken so he’s completely reliant on his insert. He liked the last load I brought him (especially the black locust) so he requested another one. This load is half ash, half locust, with about 4-5 pieces of elm thrown in just because they happened to be in the same stack.

    I can kindof relate .
So far I've mostly marketed on Facebook. With pictures of truck and trailer loads of wood . It blows me away how unintelligent many people are concerning their heating . Especially here . We've been getting lots of queries on it from Fairbanks. 112 miles away. Many are surprised I am in Delta EVEN THOUGH I only advertise in local Delta Junction groups .
Reading comprehension is not their strong suit .

One more reason why I decided not to take part of un=social media.
With the exception of here and one other site related to toy cars I don't really want any part of it. If I miss anything because of this, it really doesn't bother me

I figure avoiding most social media helps avoid headaches and problems.

Yes it is a kinetic splitter . It is a Timber Champ . 7 ton , electric motor powered . It works good . Nice and fast . Not huge power , but enough to split what I need to . I got it 10 or 11 years ago. I've split possibly 35 cord of firewood with it so far . And I don't see it wearing out any time soon . If the motor crops out I'll get a new one or mount a 3 1/2 horse engine on it .

    It could use som

It could use some upgrades . But I bought it new at Lowe's for $442 back then . Taller stand , wider stance , taller wedge , Much bigger wheels a splitting tray. A longer throw would be nice . But it will split up to 19" but it splits up to 18" really well .

I wasn’t planning on a delivery today, but my wife’s friend had put out a Facebook message looking for firewood. This load is about 1/3 elm, and 2/3 ash:

Haven't seen a box rack like that, very nice. Do you remove it when not in use? Anything to protect the back window? I've broken a few over the past few years.
