Shiny aluminum it does not play well with. Plus, I sprayed it on straight and really let it sit so that probably did not help either.

That explains it lol. The instructions warn against using it undiluted on aluminum.

I originally bought it to clean our bike chains, derailleurs and sprockets. I had to dilute it to protect the aluminum rims ect.

a dirty water pump, a Poulan / Craftsman saw, and a Husky in a box...

And way over in the corner is the missing circlip that sprung out of the toasted piston coming out of the MS391 I'm working on at my bench!!!

I’ll bet there’s a circlip or two around somewhere!
That’s a minty echo 7310 in a box that I need to finish up. Someone bought it brand new and decided to “port” it and ruined the p/c. Looked like they went after it with a wood rasp! o_O

20241219_191259.jpg Picked this up the other day. Has the HDA 87 carb and KS cylinder. She's a runner with lots of compression, she just needs a few little things...but sourcing the small parts is part of the fun!

My 011. Breaking it down to fix the leaking gas into bar oil tank problem.

Ran on 25:1 Amsoil Dominator since I did a little exhaust port work.

Nephew won this at the local online auction. It was a traverse city Michigan DNR saw. He wanted it muffler modded and sharpened. Semi chisel. The saw is in really good shape. Same saw as the Homelite 360 but the Canadian built version according to what I found online. 20241222_151724.jpg 20241222_151758.jpg

The muffler had a V shaped baffle right at the inlet. Now gone. 20241222_153325.jpg

Back on the Stihl 011. This thing is lucky it has sentimental value...

As a refresher, it was leaking fuel into the bar oil. The tanks are stacked and seperated by a thin wall of magnesium and the crankcase gasket. I love loose roller bearings...NO! No I do not.

Of course the gasket for the reed block was hard and brittle. Gasket material to the rescue. 12905021-13cf-40f8-80cf-45d6c5fe332a.jpg c711126a-c63d-4b4b-b31e-323ae296dc61.jpg 835f58a4-584b-4bdb-94f0-9b1de1f4ff1e.jpg
