The only bars I've actually worn out were worn the most behind the nose.

 

Makes good sense.
I'm just too lazy to be constantly tightening my chains....as long as it's still making chips I'm happy.
Usually I tighten it up proper when I start, and just go till I need a sharp chain....or it falls off.....

 

Don’t forget the scabbards

 

Avid scabbard user here. Get two or three sharp saws bouncing around in the buggy, they tend to chew on each other a bit. Assault bars not allowed in transport mode!

 

I'm not gonna lie, it used to stir up my ocd a little when I'd have to flip them so the words are upside down. I flip them every time I sharpen.

 

I believe thats from the way the links hit the blade after rounding the nose.

 

Same here. All blades get saw condoms or in a case.

 

I've got a big pile of unused scabbards in the saw shed.......

 

The upside down bar used to bother me too. It looked like it was put together wrong.

Santa made a detour...went through Ohio, took wrong turn, went to northern Michigan to the Dr for treatment. Hope to see it head south to Dixie before long...
