Today's home load. Some where ar ound 3/4 cord. Maybe more . ? Don't know , don't care much . It was time for me to get out of the woods. Even tho I'm in the middle of a burn / clearcut . As it was 5 below °F ambient when I got to the landing . I plugged Little Ox in to the generator for an hour before turning the key. Then I had to plow snow for a couple hours. Added to getting a late start . I decided to get some Birch I had set out and top the load off with some Spruce short butt's. Good wood for us . Don't have to worry about getting a tight stack on the truck or finding a customer's address .
Second and last load of the day. Mostly ash with a good long weekend’s worth of barkless black locust for this upcoming cold snap.
Nice day for bib overalls and cutting some farwood. Red oak in the 89 f150. I changed the timing gears 200 miles ago and she’s running good. The tree got hollow before I could get a full truckload.
I've seen jigs made of five gallon buckets with the bottom cut off. Fill with wood, slide mesh bag over, pull bucket out and walla...filled. Ive though of going the bag route, but pricey and cant make neat stacks at the stores.
Ash stacked in early 2019. Loaded up for tomorrow morning. The yard is too soft to get it on the front porch. Something to do after deer hunting tomorrow morning.
