So I was driving and a big truck pulled next to me. It read vermontgoodwood.com. Found it interesting and said to myself I have to remember that and see what it’s all about. Came home brought it up on my phone and started reading. 609$ for a half cord. R u out of your mind. Who the hell would pay that. Said all wood is under 20%. So is mine. Looks like I might change careers.

Looks like a good refuge for the yuppie buyer. Nothing I'd ever waste money on, but I wish him/her/they/them all the best in their extortion efforts.

Marketing "factory made" firewood to folks with a lot of money who are grossed out by a few wood crumbs, or God forbid, a creepy crawly in their mansions.

Maybe EODDiver is expanding his market.

There is always a market for the challenged individual I do not know how old you are but I still remember the PET ROCK a river stone put in a box and sold for a stupid amount of money I will bet that somebody who worked in a quarry thought it up and was making a fortune on a ton of riverstone . The amount of money it takes to get the equipment to do that kind of wood it a lot but the returns are crazy in certain locations . Also how about the image on the tv of a fire at the holidays ? (That is for the people who do not like the mess at all they probably use canned smoke for the authentic smell)  JB

Well again, any product can be sold for whatever somebody is willing to pay for it.

I do not begrudge anyone charging as much as they can for a product. If the price is too high, it won't be sold.

I wouldn't pay that much, for sure.

I'll have to look for a story about how he got the idea but the guy who started the pet rock was from out here in North Dakota and a lot of our farmland is loaded with rock.

There are a lot of wealthy folks who will pay a premium for very seasoned premium firewood. Received a call Sunday from a guy who wanted firewood that afternoon for his grandson’s birthday. Dropped everything I was doing and loaded immediately. $50 tip and he even helped me stack. He flew up from Alabama on his jet.

I provide a 1 CUFT bundle of kindling with every purchase. Amounts to about eight face cords a year. Even though I don’t sell poplar, it makes great kindling.

Plenty of sellers here in Middle Tn asking $80-130 a face cord. I am delivering 3-4 a day at my stupid price. A lot of CL sellers are using pictures of firewood that isn’t theirs in the Nashville area. I don’t let them get away with it.

I concur on prices; BUT free delivery..
What are they selling what’s their market.. They offer white birch only..

This is kiln dried so no bugs, tumbled so no bark dirt. Kiln dried so will light

white birch only says fire place burners in the city; not for heat burners

The pet rock inventor was from North Dakota but when he "invented" it he had moved out of state. He said he was drinking and jokingly said he was going to get a pet rock so he wouldn't have to pick up poop or get cold taking it for a walk....shortly after he had sold millions of dollars of pet rocks back in the late 70s.

Well, it seems we have a fancy-schmacy farwood company in the middle GA area, about 50 or so miles from home.
Macon Firewood – Experience the Kiln Dried Difference

They even have EODDiver prices beat...:eek:...
This is the price for 2 of their racks delivered to the next county from us.
Their racks are 2'x4'...so you would get 1/2 face cord of mixed hardwood, with mixed lengths...:picard:...15-17" or 18-22":loco: :startled:... Screenshot_20241220_124028_Chrome.jpg

Hickory rack 2'x4' is more than that.
    We need a kiln...lol...
