Nice. My wife and kids get cards from her family that lives out of state. I just get bills.

Better still to be able to adapt as necessary. I've gotten where I am by possessing a wide variety of skills, many of which were self-taught and some which have surprised many people.

But....I never did well with algebra, and it's never inconvenienced me since I managed to pass math and graduate grade 12 :vulture:

    Right on :dex:

    As my Dad once said....

"The only losers in sports is the people that watches it"

I laugh, but to each their own I suppose.

That's why it's important to have hobbies and a "F'em" mindset as early as you can. I couldn't care less about what people who are not important in my life think about me.

I'm gonna have to remember that one and use it!

Their opinion only matters if you care what they think.

Exactly; your opinion only matters as much as you do; to me

I did best in math and science, struggled with literature/language/whatever that's called now. Didn't like music class either. I don't care about reading Beowulf, A Tale of Two Cities, or any of these old stories and poems.

My boss got us a box of candy cigars a couple years ago so we could take a smoke break. I thought it was hilarious.

Now that I'm the boss of the rest of my coworkers since April, and another buyer starting on January 2nd, I want to be as good of a boss as he has been to all of us. He's still the boss to me, but I'm all the other Buyer's boss. I've had a few good bosses over the years, and she really Crappy ones, so I have a lot of experience in what a good and bad boss is.

    You said it right.

Truth is, I came up with those images, and a little philosophical ramble seemed suitable.

Now, I like reading, and some old books at that, but I guess I didn't always excel when it applied to a class.

It was just called "english" when I was in school.

A mistake many make is misunderstanding the 80/20 rule
20% of people do 80% of the work

Time is always limited so apply 80% of boss time with 20% of producers get ideas help be supportive etc..
a moving boat is easier to steer..
    You will understand the reference…

Well, if I didn't know before, I know now that I'm not beautiful (hint, that is not a news flash to me).

I got told to "suck it up buttercup", and "everything happens for a reason". Most people are uncomfortable with other's sadness/grief/pain/sorrow etc and will do anything to not have to deal with it, which is what those statements are meant to do - shut you up and make you hide your suffering. And if you are a woman, don't you dare show anger either - people have special words for women that do that.

From what I understand a tip to thank you for your service, and not reciprocal. Have a feeling it would make them feel weird if got them something in return. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Our department pretty much runs the company. It's usually not that way, and unfortunately/fortunately I have a bit of experience with different companies.

So that's the 20/80 rule where I work.:)
