Honestly I've never used it. But the smell is somewhere between cherry and oak in my opinion so it seems like it should be good. I've sold several bags and people keep coming back. I need to make some chips and give it a go.

8" competition mini splits. I don't think I have too many competitive BBQers buying from me but it's a nice size to fit in the smaller smokers. I take my standard 16" splits in my shop and cut them on the miter saw. If I happen to have long or short splits, I cut to 8" and throw the cutoffs in a crate (per species). When I get a lot, I fill a bag and sell as chunks.

I brought home another load of mixed hardwoods from my farmer buddy. Should measure out between 1/3 and 1/2 cord. I threw some short pieces on top for mini bundles. Nearly every piece will be resplit. Most of it will be delivered next Saturday.[IMG]

Here's the load processed and stacked in a tote. The order is for a face cord but I didn't have an empty 330 gallon tote so I used a 275 and heaped it up. I covered it to stay dry until Saturday's delivery.[IMG][IMG]

I delivered the load from the last post on Saturday and stacked it next to the chimney. I thought I might be in Nashville when I saw the tip on the Venmo payment.[IMG]

Always nice to get tips. Big ones are even nicer. Well done Gary.

I delivered 100pcs mulberry to a repeat smoker customer on Saturday. Turns out it was for his father who took it with him back to Florida near Key West.

Keep up the good work Gary. Does the stand do well in the cold?

Deliver 60 to a regular yesterday. My 100 bundle guy called and needs a refill. Had a smoker sale last week and another this week. Listed a half cord yesterday on FBM and it sold this morning. Tis the season. IMG_6513.JPG

I would have made him an offer to deliver to Key West for a nominal fee!

Sounds like things are shaping up nicely for you! The stand is hit and miss this time of year. I still have smoking wood customers. Otherwise it's mostly loose stacks with very few bundles. I have a new customer that wants to pick up 1/3 cord of mixed because she doesn't want to pay the delivery fee for 34 miles. Works for me!

I picked up another load from the farmer tonight. Not much fun to load in the dark. Unfortunately he stacked a huge amount of unseasoned hickory in front that I had to move.

The good news is I stacked into a 330 gallon tote (1/3 cord) and still had some left. I'm flipping this for a customer to pick up this week and didn't resplit a stick of it. [IMG][IMG]

As I was pulling up to the shed to load the wood I bought, I got a call from a gas station in town 16 miles away. He wanted 29 bundles delivered tomorrow. Told him the best I could do is Saturday.

After I got home I figured the distance and quoted $28 for delivery plus $4 per bundle. I'm not sure he will pay delivery but I'm not doing a 45 minute round trip for free.

A buddy had a pear tree taken down in his yard. I told him I was interested in the wood and it would probably save him money if the tree service didn't have to dispose of it. I went today and brought it home. It will make some nice smoking wood.[IMG][IMG]
