Few weeks back I responded to a FBM listing for free wood. No response. It was close by so I persisted. I asked multiple times and the lady finally replies yes its still here. I asked for the address and if I could come over, trying to coordinate a time and never heard back. Few days later its deleted from FBM. Fast forward to a couple days ago. More wood listed by same lady. PMed twice and nothing. I'm not going through that again. I was on a mission. Ended up finding a phone number by browsing her profile. Got in touch with her husband, checked the score out yesterday and had at it today.

Red maple, tulip (yellow) poplar, and three nice big rounds of red oak (yes, I took them). Normally I ignore scores like these as the wood was cut random length, but most were longer and it was decent plus easy back right up to it. Just over a mile from storage to boot. IMG_6493.JPG IMG_6494.JPG IMG_6495.JPG Sectioned some with the Isocore and some I noodled. IMG_6496.JPG IMG_6497.JPG IMG_6498.JPG What's there yet. Probably going back as there's a few TP rounds left. I really don't want nuggets and gnarlies. IMG_6499.JPG Heaping load stacked out to a couple face cords. Been a long time since I had that much on the PU. IMG_6500.JPG IMG_6501.JPG Unloaded at storage. IMG_6503.JPG Oak. There was a lone hickory round. IMG_6506.JPG Stacked on sleepers (scrap 2x4's & 4x4's) as I may not split this for a few weeks. Need to get the shed addition built as most of the lesser BTU wood will go to bundle inventory. IMG_6505.JPG He may take down more trees. Hopefully that wont be another mission.

You were definitely determined for this one. Nice wood too; even the red maple is as nice as it gets. Bonus that it was so close to storage for you too. Today was absolutely perfect hoarding weather IMO.

Nice load Brad. Too bad people will place ads but then play games with someone who is willing to come get it.

    Nice score.

Did you leave contact info with the husband, should they have more trees felled?

He has my number. I'm not super enthused as the two trees are tulip poplars.

Last time I spoke with him he wanted to forget about it. This was well over a month ago. Ill try one last time as that much mulberry doesn't come around that often...plus I'm on a mission and crazier than that guy! :tree: :wacky:

If you are crazier than him than you really have issues. :loco: :rofl: :rofl:  Figure he is 13 short of a dozen at best.
Saw him last week stumbling across the parking lot of the quickie mart with a half-gallon of ice cream and a bottle of milk. 5:00pm and wearing pajama bottoms, an old ratty sweatshirt looking like he just crawled out from under a rock.

Might I suggest = RUN!! :quad:

    Nice score Brad!

And some serious irony there. Usually it’s the potential buyer ghosting…not the seller.

Brought just the splitter yesterday and processed the nuggets. IMG_6791.JPG IMG_6792.JPG Giving my friend all the nuggets. Filling a one cord bin I no longer use. MikeInMa notice its propped up on blocks. A while back I was supposed to get pics of this. IMG_6794.JPG Saw will make the next trip along with the splitter.

Older thread but some nice bundle wood in there. Nice score.

Had me one of those FB scores awhile back. Nice pile of firewood logs for free. But the owner spent a week between each message ghosting me, not answering questions like where are they, what time? Finally I ghosted him. Didn’t need them that bad after he finally told me they were in Bloomfield.
