First fire of the year, first fire for the yellow dog. He wasted no time claiming his spot at th3 hearth. Bone dry oak lit right up. 4 or 5 years split and stacked. I pulled a coouple of splinters off it and used that as the kindling.

Interesting! My stoves are non-cat. Does the scoop burn up after a while? Does it need to be replaced every so often?

Some of the tack welds have popped. The metal does get thinner over time. It’s close to the cat that is 1200 degrees so yeah it does deteriorate.

21/73 cherry and silver maple. Made a fire after coming home from work and freezing all day at about 830. Reloaded it once and fell asleep on the floor with the dogs

I stared burning with the Fireview in the fall of 2007. Have replaced it once.

11 with wind chill of -5 this morning.

I put the indoor temp sensor at floor level and it is reading 60. At 5' high, it reads 63. Time to begin using the ceiling fan. :handshake:

Fire is lit so it'll be warm when 99 lbs decides to wake up......

7/65F this fine am. A tad on the chilly side. Doing some coal reduction before loading. Good luck to all getting the LE snows. Looks like a really widespread event.
    Enjoy your leftovers everyone:thumbs:
