Got a call from a friend about a mile away. People across the street were taking down some Doug Firs. I am full up with firewood right now so I said I would talk to the trees owner to see if I could get a load for my friend. Guy next door said "Come On Dowwwn". So I did! Thought I had died and gone to the promised land! He took out 10 Doug Firs and a small Gary Oak. The Yard was littered with rounds 14" to 17" lengths and 12" to 38" dia. Loaded up the trailer then was going to take it halfway around the block to my friend's alley when he told me his Wife (he can't do much work) had put the kibosh on any new firewood. So I took the load home. Now I am faced with the problem of not really needing firewood but laying awake nights dreaming of all these rounds. They go all around the house even in back where the largest trees were. Pictures only show the front and side yard. The trees owner has some friends that would like firewood but are a little daunted by the hard work. We will see how this situation works out. skipwood1.jpg skipwood3.jpg skipwood4.jpg skipwood5.jpg

Fantastic! Any chance you could set up a couple pallets to stack the rounds on until a later date? Build the stack as high as you dare, and throw a tarp on the top?

I may just roll the rounds off in a pile and get some more loads. I worry that If I don't someone will want to punch some X's in my hoarders card.

If I was in that situation, I’d be a Holzhouzen building fool.

that’s an award winning score right there

Just noticed the massive standing trunk in the back corner. That’s another 2-3 loads :stacker:

I saw that also, not sure of the story there. I'll have to ask. I guess I'll be going back tomorrow!

Nice windfall metalcuttr . I noticed the red Tundra. What year? I thought you may have had a black one in the past, but then again my memory is not as good as it used to be!

2005 bought new. 120, 000 miles. Never a major repair. Regular maintenance, runs like a top! Just replaced the old Toyo tires with new ones. Only Tundra I have ever owned. Have had an SR-5 4x4 (two tone) and an Xtra Cab 4x4 (red) in the ancient past. Great small trucks!

Sardines in the middle and cheesecake at the ends! Brad knows what I mean. He came up with the label "cheesecake splits"!:handshake: But I don't think sardine cheesecake will ever be very popular except maybe in Norway or Portugal!

Spent part of yesterday making a temporary place to unload the last load. Today I got another load and some pictures of the back yard where the larger trees were. He plans to make a tree house of some sort with that trunk left standing (previous pictures). skipwoodb1.jpg skipwoodb2.jpg skipwoodb3.jpg skipwoodb4.jpg
