Finally got our stove hooked up today. It's a small stove but we're just starting out so we put the money in the chimney. It's a 6" stainless wrapped liner all the way up with a bigger cap for more surface area. A lot of the cost came from have the tiles busted out but I think it was the safest thing to do from what I've read here and have been told by others. Even though it's about 72 out, I'm gonna start a fire tonight so I can burn off the smell a little with the windows open. Pics of that later tonight! 1411672618756.jpg 1411672652325.jpg

I haven't followed you too closely, is this a new stove or a first stove?

    Nice set up Drvn! :smoke:

Smart doing up the chimney first class.. Doing it right the first time will pay off in the long run.

Have fun with the first fire tonight too... Drink some cool beverages to keep you guys from overheating..:)

How's the firewood stash coming along?

Fired it up! More pics and probably a lot of questions to follow! Started it about 10 minutes ago. Gonna add some dry ash give it 5 minutes and shut the door to see how she burns! 1411678632427.jpg

Glad I lit the first fire when we can have all the windows open - the curing paint stinks. The ash fired right up and is burning well! She's looking good to me! 1411679720177.jpg

Thank you! Thank you! I was hooked in march the day we bought the house. I'm lucky that I have great wood this year from my father in law and cutting partner - all of it at least 3 years css. Have some other ash that's only a year but reads well on the mm.

Nice install. I also like the brick hearth. Plenty of space for wood, hearth tools and room to dry wet clothes. Enjoy!

Ive had ash get below 20% in 6 months so you should be good. Did you build that hearth or was it already there? That's a nice big hearth, wish I had that at my house.

Already there. The house was built in 78 with a wood stove and it's original to the house. The previous owners converted it to a pellet stove years ago that was there when we bought it. I sold the pellet stove and bought the wood stove with that money.

1411686739556.jpg Just gave her a good load of nice dry uglies to see how long it will burn. We have Jeter, a good college game, NY Washington, and Greys for my wife plus cold beer!! Life is good!
