Red oak

    Sorry but no pictures. I have about a 16” red oak that’s been down about a year. It’s got around 30’ of straight trunk. I got out my 5105 Dolmar that I haven’t used in a few years, I forgot how much I liked it. 20” bar 3/8 chain cut like it was in balsam wood.

    Sounds like some good stuff. Straighter is gooder in my book when it comes to firewood.

    I have no red oak in my stacks, kinda weird as it’s been a regular for a while.
    Nothing beats a nice sharp chain. Do you round file or square?

    I have 20 cord of chestnut oak c/s/s. Tons of that stuff is dying around me.

    I know, lots of them dead/dying on my property, but I cut on state forest land too and most of what is dead there is Red oak family species.

    With help from my son and grandson I got red oak 1 and 2 by the splitter.
