I haven’t met anybody who was disappointed with their purchase or its performance. I’m sure you’ll be no different! So with the chipper on the back to sneak into backyards, would you be chipping into the edge of a woods or a pile the client wants to keep. That’ll make a nice little setup
A little bit of both. Sometimes I upsell them on having the valuable mulch spread out into their landscaping. It’s really the best outcome for the chips to just stay on site.
Kioti CK2510 got it in August. Decent used tractor, only had 110 hours on it when I bought it. I had to travel to a well to do area to get it about 3 hours away. This is the kind of area you have to wear a suit and tie, top hat and monocle. I have a dealer 10 miles away that has been in business a long time.
Well, I took a 7 foot back blade, cut the three point mounting frame off the blade to turn it into a snow pusher. I just cross drilled for a hitch insert on the 3 point mount. Normally I have a big hook on it but I was moving a trailer and just left the ball in. It really adds traction with it back that far. There have been times I should have scooped up a load of sand in the bucket before skidding a log because I was steering with the brakes.

Bought A grapple for my tractor to get logs from the woods with. It's one of purchases I've made. Don't have to drag the logs and get the bark covered in dirt so I can saw rounds without getting my chain dull.
I like the brush style grapples better than the big awkward ones. They are easier to work with and reduce weight so you can carry bigger logs. I am using forks right now, and they work well, but I need to make a grapple.
Nice set-up. I have the same style for my sub compact. By far the best investment for moving logs. Struggled with forks when I got the machine but just wasn't feeling it. Added the third function and grapple and it was game over!
I guess the style I am talking about is a grapple rake. They don’t grab a whole pile of logs at once, but they are very good for control of the log and for cleaning up brush and bark.
There’s like 3-4 versions. brush and rock rakes are two style. brush and rock grapples are another style. rock attachments have twice as many plates on them as a brush attachment. the impact on weight and lift capacity is immense.
Went down to the saw shop for something unrelated, and asked the salesman to tell me about his tractors. They have carried kioti for years and recently brought on the LS lineup. He seemed to prefer the kiotis. Explained what the tariffs have done to all his existing inventory and what more recent tariffs would be doing to future inventory. I walked out of the shop kind of feeling meh. He followed me out and said he had a customer who was wanting to sell his tractor he bought within the past year to get a skid loader with mulching head. Said he really wanted to move it soon or he was going to trade it in. Told me the price he wanted for the tractor with 32 hours, loader, grapple, box blade, material bucket, and forks. Told him I’d discuss it with the wife. Then the dealer called me about 4 hours later saying he talked with his customer again, and he had a price $3300 less than what he had originally told me. Anywho, ended up over at the guys house a couple days later, and was able to come home with everything plus the trailer he hadn’t mentioned to haul it with. Been thinking about one for years, and with time and circumstances, became easier to justify. Dealer said he’ll treat me like I bought it from him. More than 4 years left on the warranty. Pretty awesome how things fell into place!
