Those things have worked well for me!

We’ve been getting light snow here all day too. I love it!

    Enjoy that fire!

That is hard to imagine. I split wood in the snow for about two hours today. My fingers were freezing!

I was working in full sun on the South side in a Summer weight shirt (luckily I hadn't put them away for the season) I complained it was too warm

You can keep your snow! While parts of Maine have had snow, there is none here. The Atlantic ocean helps keep the snow far inland until much later in the season. We have had snow by now but that is exceptional. One year we got a foot of snow just before Halloween. Last few years, the snow doesn't stay until after Christmas.

That actually sounds pretty nice! Last year we got a foot of snow the Saturday before Halloween. I only remember that because we normally have our neighborhood hay ride on the Saturday before Halloween - and we had to cancel it last year due to whiteout conditions.

Dry White Pine going under the porch this morning. This stuff has been stacked outside over six months and will be burned now, during these mild temperatures. IMG_5753.jpeg

You have a really nice place there. I like the set up. I also like the barn build and the view of the pasture and water. Good job well done.

2 cords split delivered tonight. 1/2 back yard other 1/2 front yard. 2 young men, extremely polite, respectful and helpful. They offered to take the bent up/crushed several winters from snowdrifts "rolled up" cattle wire to dump for free. Gave them an extra $20 for moving some planter boxes and dump $$ for old fence wire.

    AND they stacked it!

I just grabbed an armful, those stinkers went to town for Halloween with the stove burned down. I used the new wood because it was closer. Nope, standing dead pine in not dry. It lit, but I'm going to leave the bypass open.

Weird! I asked my husband if I could get a grocery order delivered to his work in town or him pick it up earlier this week, days ago. He could not commit so I didn't place an order. (no delivery where I live).

He went there tonight and asked for my pickup :picard:. They put a bunch of loose items in the truck - not bagged which was weird.

A few hours later parents met up, exchanged kids from Halloween places and now family and someone else's grocery order is home. I walked by while they unloaded and groaned on the not-so-healthy granola bars, then WWW complained why would Mommie buy 2 gallons of 2% milk?  I'll call the store tomorrow and see.

That is so true. My wife and I took our boys to Denver tonight to trick or treat in grandma and grandpa’s neighborhood. There were a few groups of high school age teenagers running from door to door trick or treating. At first my wife and I were kind of rolling our eyes. But after a few interactions with the teenagers, we were very appreciative of them. They were really watching out for the little kids. They were so good to my boys. They would always let my kids get candy first at every stop. They would always make room for my boys to get on and off of every front porch. They were very complimentary of all the younger kids costumes. They were very careful not to trample the little kids while running from door to door. There were even a few houses that left the infamous “Take 2 please” baskets of candy on their front porches. The teens were only taking 2-ish each at those stops and leaving plenty for other kids. I actually felt good about having the big kids out in the neighborhood - because there were some kids trick or treating on their own that were too young to not have a parent with them, in my opinion. But I felt like the teens were keeping an eye on those young kids. The teens kept checking in with the young kids to make sure they were doing okay. My faith in humanity got a nice little bump tonight.

    Happy Halloween, hoarders!!

A rough ocean can be beautiful, and it can be destructive. Watch it with respect.
