The biggest issue I see with it turning dark earlier is the difficulty in counting benjamins without the proper light.
Use the light in the truck, just make sure the windows are closed so the Benjamin’s don’t fly out the window!
Yup! No matter what, man will never control the cycles of nature. We've (man) only been here a couple thousand years at best with the planet doing its thing for over 4 1/2 billion years! We are just a speck. A temporary speck at that! Nest thing you know, taxes will be raised in order to try to control the temps of the planet.
So I thought we were done with this? Don't let me find out they keep doing it for the sake of financial market operations.
Looked into it about 6-8 years ago. Was tempted to start a citizens initiative measure on the state ballot. Did a bit of research so I didn't waste my time and was glad I did. I'm a keep it on summer time with more evening light kind of person because I didn't see much sense in having it be light at 3:30am in the summer but be getting dark by 9:30 pm up here in Dakotah Territory. Upon my research, I discovered individual states may pass legislation to stay on winter hours all year but only the US Congress can pass the law to eliminate winter hours and permanently be on summer hours. 5 years ago there was a national push for this and one chamber of congress passed it but then it got hung up in the other chamber about the same time as the current administration was put in place and the issue seems to have died in procedure.
This time change, fall back, I can deal with. The spring forward,/ lose an hour is the one that messes with my system. It takes my brain like 2 weeks to fully adapt.
The older I get the worse it is. I been thinking about going to bed for a couple hours and it’s just after 7.
We're off kilter here too. I felt like going to bed after 6, husbands been dozing in the recliner on/off all day, and WOW kiddo went to bed an hour early. Didn't help it was cold and overcast all day trying to snow.
Exactly!!!!! I feel like it takes me half the dang summer to adapt when the clocks change in spring. I don’t think the good Lord intended for our bodies to be flip flopping like this year after year. Pick one and stick. If no one can decide in government split the difference & make it a half hour & leave it that way going forward.
Both changes mess with my sleep and digestive tract schedules. The older I get, the more affect it seems to have. Just leave it one way or the other, and people will adjust their outdoor schedules to adapt.
If you have young children or animals and have to punch a timeclock it's terrible. Try convincing a two year old or a dog that it's not breakfast for another hour.
Yes, this. I don't know that it messes with me body/sleep etc wise. If it does I've never really put it together. But timing of work hours etc with chores and dark at 530 is horrible.
Not a big fan of the getting dark at 5 thing , little to no time after work to get anything outside without some sort of artificial light; not like I don't have anything to do inside but prefer out over in any day. I do like the earlier sunrise and cooler mornings and hope to take advantage of it and squeeze some hunting in early mornings. Love being out there on a cool day when sun is coming up. Just have to make the best of it until my brain gets back on schedule.
I watched an article on the news that was talking about how the time change affects animals. Shadow did really well considering she went through 9 time zone changes in 5 months. The hardest ones for us was coming back with the clock going back all the time.
