Found this in my ash

Sorry but I can't help myself sometimes....just ask my wife .

Was splitting some rounds that I cut last fall and this guy fell out.

Another cord of ash for my cheap woodshed build.

I suggest a teriyaki marinade

 

I believe it is stag beetle larva.
Find them all the time while I'm splitting

Yup, I see those from time to time. Dunno if I've ever pulled one out of my ash though!

 

I had red-headed ash borers in my ash before, they would come out because I'm sure they thought it was spring and they could move on, but no, they just ended up flying around in my basement

 

What you and your wife do with your ash is none of my business!!
