I guess I am going to have to face the truth.....Summer is over and fall is getting off to a real good start.

Monday I did a quick service on the Large Whitfield (ADVANTAGE 2T)
Lit a short fire to test things....Took about 15 minutes for the low temp switch to reach temp and turn on the GREEN Low/Temp light.....(Power switches from the startup control to the main power buss )
Ran for another half hour......Good to go.

Yesterday was sunny so we shut the little stove (Prodigy 2) as we were going to be gone all day....

Got home around 5pm and tossed a fire in both stoves to warm the place.....By 8 pm the place was toasty..

Was very nice seeing both stoves running ......
The long cold / wet is coming........

We have already burned through 4 barrels of shells since the first shell run......
We had a couple empty barrels left after the first run....so it won't be long until we reach the magic number 10 barrels and it will be time to go for round two.....

Finally fired up the P43 last night as it was supposed to be (and ended up getting down to) the low 20's here.

Flame seemed a bit ragged and low at first but I put that down to the leftover pellets in the lower hopper maybe having some moisture in them. Cranked up the feed rate and after 30-40 minutes was back to the normal flame.

Distribution fan was groaning a bit at first but went away after a few min. Could be it's going. May be the first part I'll have to ever replace on the P43 if it acts up.

Might be oil ports to lube it. Usually all that they need is a bit of lube.

My Harman is also acting up. Not able to fix anything much due to limited mobility, I called Rocky's stove shop. After several weeks of waiting, they came and found mice damage, 'chewed wires'. Last year it was the ignitor they chewed. I am going to get a screen for the chimney. We went several years without problems, now mice. We have indoor cats, but not outdoors. Now waiting for Rocky's to get the part in. Looks like some wire harness. Glad we are getting it taken care of before the deep cold settles in. I have been getting my stove serviced every year since I became impaired.

I'm sorry, I hear ya. I'd hire someone in a heartbeat if there was one out here, but there's not. Lol on your indoor cats sleeping on the job.

45 F here at 8:30 AM. Getting ready to attend my granddaughter's wedding up in the Bangor area. My son in-law and daughter are driving us up there in our new van. Too far for me to drive and too late getting done (after dark).

Gave the P43 a quick cleaning on Sunday. I had to let it sit cold for 24 hours before removing the ashes. There have been plenty of brush fires lately, some being started by wood stove ashes. So I definitely wanted to be cautions. The ashes were at least 24 hours cold, and I spread it on some of the "lawn" (which is still green, though not growing) instead of in the woods where the leaves are.

It's supposed to rain later this week - actual rain instead of sprinkles. So then I will be able to empty out the P61a. It is the only heat source in the basement, so I can't let it sit for 24 hours to ensure all sparks are out.
