I've been in my present home 6 years now and never get much under $100 for electric when not running AC. My gas bills go from $25 in summer to at most I think maybe $180. So gas averaged out for the year is reasonable here. Which is why I've only had two fires so far this year.

I have $73.66 in fees alone. Then I have an additional 40.73 in for the actual electric this month. :hair::bug:

    Look up Ohio HB 6.

I keep cutting and stacking wood. It would cost a fortune to heat my house with the electric baseboards.

How many KWh are you using Dennis? Are you billed through a power co-op?

My electric bill used to be around $18 for years. Those days are long gone. $10 a month customer charge put an end to that.
I like the months my average daily use is under 3kWh per day.

If I were to take that $24.37 and move the decimal point over one place, then triple that figure, then add another $100 to that, I'd ALMOST be up to what my electric bill is every month now.

It's okay Eckie, I live in Connecticut. Every one of us is rich here. I just have my manservant pay the bill for me once he gets done chopping my firewood and bringing my draft horses in from the field. I can't be bothered with trivial matters of the pauper class :wacky:

We all get taxed that way anyway, whether we grew up next to HW Bush or in the projects.

$50-60 is about as low as we can get...usually in the fall when you don't need heat or ac...but I think that's pretty good for a family of 4 with a mostly electric home! (Heat is wood, or fuel oil...all the rest runs on electrons) A hot month with lots of ac use might get us to $100, or a bit more.

Between covid and many other variables :whistle:I think everything that was normal or low to us is long long gone. Once things go up they usually don't come down to where they once were.

Three computers, 2 chest freezers, water heater (in summer), air conditioning, clothes dryer and shop projects, all make our summer electric bills way higher than that.

Late fall, Winter and early spring are a relief to that pain. The Hardy supplies our heat and our hot water and I do less welding since I do any big projects in the summer.
